
DJ ENERGY DAI / D41’s biography:
Under the name “Energy Dai”, characterized by a melodic, hard-hitting sound style, and under a different name “D41”, with a deep, underground sound concept, he has played in 11 countries around the world. With his trademark of “2STYLE 1DJ”, which cleverly separates trance and techno, he is now in his 24th year of DJing as an internationally active Japanese artist. In 1996, he began his DJ career as Energy Dai in his hometown of Osaka. With his natural energy and passion for dance music, he has been active in London since 2002 and has performed at Brixton Academy, Ministry of Sound, Se-One, Camden Palace, The Fridge, The Mass The Cross, The Cross, Heaven, Giglum and the now defunct The Turnmills. He has also performed in Brighton, Truro, Birmingham and Newcastle, making him one of the most active Japanese DJs in the UK. In 2003, he started his career in the Netherlands with an appearance at MELKWEG, the leading club in Amsterdam. Since then, he has played at SUGARFACTORY, the huge stadium AHOY in Rotterdam, Dance Valley twice, and in 2018 he participated in the world’s largest dance music conference, ADE -Amsterdam Dance music Event-. He has also played at The Archers in Scotland and Tresor, Berlin’s leading techno club, under the name D41, as well as in Switzerland, South Africa, Australia, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan and China. In 2014, he performed at three venues in the Russian city of St. Petersburg, including the “Trance Mission” festival organized by Radio Record. In Japan, he was the resident DJ at the now defunct club velfarre for 3 years, and then ran his own party at WEARHOUSE for a year. He has performed twice on the live streaming “DOMMUNE”. At home in Osaka, he has been the official DJ at Club Joule, which has a capacity of 1,000 people, for 20 years and is still active. He has performed all over the country, from Hokkaido in the north to Sendai, Ibaraki, Chiba, Kanagawa, Shizuoka, Gumma, Nagoya, Mie, Kobe, Kyoto, Okayama, Hiroshima, Ehime, Kagawa, and Okinawa, and is an official member of the Danish headphone manufacturer AIAIAI Japan. In 2014, he will be releasing New Remix 4 of “Reloaded D41 released a song with Q’hey, “Enter,” on Torque, and a collaboration with Anode, “Mainline Music,” on Matsuri Digital and Zion604, on digital & CD. Release. Since April 2016, he has been a principal instructor at the IDPS Osaka School, teaching DJ techniques to people of all ages from 6 to 68 years old. His teaching activities have been featured and broadcasted by NHK and 8 other TV companies, contributing to the revitalization of the Japanese DJ and club scene. In 2019, he will become a priest of the Koya-san Shingon Buddhist sect of Buddhism to transmit Japanese culture and sound.
