Our dear friends over at Downbeat District are gearing up for their next event, Trance Awakening. DD promises an “unforgettable night of euphoric melodies and driving beats that you do not want to miss”, and we couldn’t be more stoked. To prepare you and get a little hyped ourselves, we’ll be doing an artist spotlight on each featured DJ. From top to bottom, we’re covering who you’re seeing, what you’ll be hearing, and why you should get excited.

Our final spotlight is on Roman Messer.
A true self-made DJ, Roman Messer is the result of hard work, passion, and unwavering self-confidence. Originally from Russia, he has since taken his music to every corner of the world, bringing his energy and passion to each stop.
Behind the decks, Messer excels in creating a room that can hardly contain itself. From the first note, he’s taking off running. There’s no coaxing or hand-holding as the audience is pushed straight into the deep end. Rather, he doesn’t give time for second thoughts or apprehensions. Instead, he gives you the greatest gift a performer can give – the gift of immersion.
Each set starts high and, somehow, brings you even higher as it continues. As a result, it forces you to let go of all inhibitions and gives you permission to be exactly who you are at that moment. With an emphasis on the trance moments that can drive the peak moments of the set, Messer creates an experience that sits with you long after it’s over.
Beyond the decks, his involvement in the scene extends to the creation of his label, Suanda Music. Representing trance artists from around the globe, Suanda Music focuses on the best parts of trance – the uplifting beats, the melodies that stick in your head, and the indescribable feelings that accompany each ascent.
As one of the headliners, his set will be the nightcap that leaves you equal parts satisfied and wanting more.
