Our dear friends over at Downbeat District are gearing up for their next event, Trance Awakening. DD promises an “unforgettable night of euphoric melodies and driving beats that you do not want to miss”, and we couldn’t be more stoked. To prepare you and get a little hyped ourselves, we’ll be doing an artist spotlight on each featured DJ. From top to bottom, we’re covering who you’re seeing, what you’ll be hearing, and why you should get excited.
Check out our recent feature on Ori Uplift.
Next up in our series is Moniqa Adams & Arsen.

As key players in the district’s trance scene, the duo has made a name for themselves here and beyond. Their January 2026 track “Daydream” captured international attention, peaking at #6 on the Beatport Top 100 Releases and cementing their place in the industry.
As a couple on both sides of the decks, they bring a style that can only be achieved when you have an intimate knowledge of the person at your side. Though they have separate projects, their best music comes when they are together. Together, they bring a sound that exemplifies the best parts of trance. Driving beats, uplifting melodies, and pulsing syncopations that create an experience that can not only be heard, but felt. Felt in your feet as they shuffle on the dance floor. Felt in your legs that can’t stay still. And felt in your heart, as you’re enveloped in the world they’ve created.
Outside of performing, they also curate the broadcast “The Couple Moments of Trance” on AH.FM. Here, they showcase the breadth of trance, challenging the idea of what it can sound like and where it belongs in a lineup. By introducing seemingly contradictory styles like Hardstyle, they reanimate a genre that is so often seen as a one-trick pony.
If their performances and broadcasts are any indication, you’re sure to see a set that drives you to the dance floor and stirs your emotions.
Catch them and our other friends during Trance Awakening on August 15th.
Next up: Mearzie
