Tracklist:
1] Echo
I reviewed this earlier, but the song still hits. You feel that rush the moment you press play. It is that feeling of a mirror repeating itself, or being in a cave, a space where you feel isolated and no one can hear you or see you. But knowing you are not alone feeling this way, it adds another layer to this song so much. Art, visuals, and expression, all three deliver a vast expanse within the music video too.
2] Already Know
The music video displays OAKS in a small form dancing on a plate, as if on a record spinning. But in a sense, it is how we all feel when music takes over, and you cannot help but move. Lost in the song, there is freedom, a space where it is just you, everything else fades away. Within the lyrics, it is compelling and catches your ear from start to finish. The concept of being small, seen but not heard, you try everything to say something, but it feels like no one can hear you.
3] Five Past Three
Whenever you hangout with friends, it feels like an adventure. Wherever you go, this is your story, the destination is part of that. It is that moment life, and responsibilities go on pause, it is that moment, you breathe it all in. It could be a weekend, or a drive, or maybe even going to a concert and everyone is packed like sardines.
4] Love Is Kind
The album’s title track, within its music video it is a replay of all of the visuals used for each song. It is a journey with a story to tell, of three artists, and an album that is meant to deliver a unique experience for those who listen, and dance along. Also, the song’s title, it is true, the connections we make, the bonds made, it can be a unique love, an energy that we all share. The kindness of a hug, a smile, a moment to pause listen to one another, find a connection, and joy, to support each other too.
5] Wild
The last track within this amazing album. Five may be a small amount of songs, but it is noteworthy and finds a balance that celebrates life, wonder, and magic of just being there. The journey within these five tracks is a sweet one. Each song explores a feeling, an emotion, a movement, what draws us to others, helps us get through tough times, and sums up so much about what life can be.
