Needed Me – A Journey Through Sound, Emotion, and Drum & Bass
By Hardin Blake
From the moment I started creating music, I never planned to make an album. It wasn’t the goal—at least, not at first. But as time passed, something kept pulling me toward the idea, like an unshakable feeling that Needed Me was meant to exist.
The Story Behind the Album:
The journey began with a single track—Te Vas. It was the first time I experimented with vocal chops, something completely new to me. I found the vocal sample by chance, even though I don’t speak Spanish, and yet, something about it resonated deeply. That moment sparked a creative flow I couldn’t ignore.
One track led to another. Needed Me became more than just a collection of songs—it became a reflection of who I am, a sonic representation of my emotions, thoughts, and late-night creative sessions. The album blends deep melodies, high-energy drops, and immersive soundscapes, each track carrying its own weight.
Breaking Down the Sound:
With Needed Me, I wanted to bring something fresh yet deeply personal to the Drum & Bass scene. Each track tells a story:
- “Needed Me” sets the tone with vibrant energy and vocal chops that pull you in.
- “Te Vas” brings a touch of Spanish passion, wrapped in the rhythmic pulse of D&B.
- “Existence” is dark, cinematic, and feels like the soundtrack to a late-night cityscape.
- “Glimer”, the only unreleased track before the album, serves as a modern yet nostalgic piece that closes a chapter.
This project isn’t just about music; it’s about emotion—about making people feel something.
A Leap of Faith:
Creating this album was a risk. As an independent artist, I knew that putting out a full-length project wasn’t the most strategic move—especially when you’re still growing. But I ignored the doubts and went for it anyway.
Because at the end of the day, music isn’t just about numbers or strategy—it’s about expression. If even one person listens to Needed Me and connects with it, that’s success in my book.
What’s Next?
The journey doesn’t end here. On January 31st, I released a new single, Validity, a track heavily inspired by the game Until Dawn. It explores suspense, tension, and raw energy—something that I’m very proud of. I bet if you like Drum and Bass then you will enjoy this one too, and also I’m releasing 2 songs in this month 1st ‘If You Let Me’ is will be on air on February 21 and 2nd ‘Strain’ is will on right on next week February 28. So, sit tight and wait, I assure you that it will be worth your time!
But for now, Needed Me is out, and it’s yours to explore. I invite you to dive into it, feel the energy, and find your own connection to the music.
