Both companies have supported the long running series with an ongoing celebration of music, art, and life in Japan. Within the GITS series, it takes place in a not-too-distant future, where technology has taken over daily life, but also people have adopted a connection by becoming an android, or cyborg to live as long as possible. Adapting by using a cyber-brain, which essentially connects an individual to the internet, and their subconscious can be transferable via data.
The series revolves around a team called Section 9, and they are a squad that works behind the scenes. Their job is to handle tough situations, from dealing with trouble on the streets, to those in politics, and sometimes just getting through the day. There have been numerous stories involving the crew, including exploring their origins, years later if the team disbanded, or the journey of identity.
