Some releases arrive with fanfare. Others arrive with intention. Siren’s Dream, the new EP from Adnan Jakubovic and UNIV3RSE (sL) on Big Bells Records, is firmly in the second camp — and that’s exactly what makes it worth your attention.
For Adnan Jakubovic, the founder and owner of Big Bells Records and Big Bells Digital, this release carries a particular weight. It marks his return to the studio as an artist after four years away from releasing music. Rather than chasing trends or attempting a statement comeback, he chose instead to do something quieter and more considered: collaborate with UNIV3RSE (sL), a Sri Lankan producer and resident of Big Bells Records, and let the music speak entirely for itself.
The result is three tracks that reward patience.
The original mix of Siren’s Dream opens slowly and deliberately, drawing you in rather than pulling you by force. Warm, rolling basslines provide the foundation while evolving melodic layers and subtle harmonic shifts build an emotional undercurrent that settles into the body long after the track ends. It is underground progressive house in the truest sense — focused on mood, depth, and trust in the journey rather than manufactured peaks or instant gratification.
Completing the EP are two remixes from fellow Big Bells Records residents Will Daley and Zy Khan, each approaching the source material from a distinct perspective without breaking its spell. Will Daley strips things back into a deeper, more fluid groove, sculpting a version designed for long-form sets where emotion accumulates gradually over time. Zy Khan brings slightly more driving energy to his interpretation, adding tension and atmosphere while keeping the soulful core of the original fully intact.
The industry response has been immediate and enthusiastic. Since its promo campaign launch, the EP has clocked over 891 plays and 94 ratings across the DJ community, with an Inflyte score of 12,531,820. Support has come from some of the most respected names in progressive and underground house music, including Madison Palmer, Richie Hawtin, Armin Van Buuren, Blake Jarrell, Ziger, Gregori Klosman, Tocadisco, and many more.
The feedback from those who listened speaks for itself. D-Vox of Cinematique and Stripped Recordings called it “BIG EP! Hot work by Adnan, Will, and Zy! World class!” Steven Don described the release as “dark, brooding, punching peak time Prog/Tech” and noted it was going straight into his radio show. Rob Impact of Subcode Radio praised it as “simply superb — really super percussive set and striking synth and bubbling arps and leads — a stunning pack.” Soso Klein summed it up with three words: “Driving energy, deep textures, and pure groove.”
This EP was also premiered by Cultura Rave from Argentina and also by Dancefloor Romancer by When We Dip. It also reached in Top 100 Progressive House Releases at Beatport.
Siren’s Dream is not a release that announces itself loudly. It is one that lingers — a reminder from Adnan Jakubovic and UNIV3RSE (sL) that the most honest music is made without urgency, and that Big Bells Records continues to stand for exactly that.
