Introducing new “techno collective,” Raw District Amsterdam
Founded by Sophia Sigma
About the Collective
This project started from a long-standing idea: to build a techno and house music collective that goes beyond standard club nights. The focus is on curating events in atypical, carefully chosen spaces, where the environment shapes the sound and the overall experience.
The collective is rooted in Amsterdam and brings together artists from across Europe currently a group of seven, with members from the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, the UK, and Belgium. While inclusive, the project intentionally prioritizes female artists, creating more space and visibility in a scene where local opportunities can still feel limited and gatekept.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking to collaborate with DJs, producers, and artists who are open to crossing boundaries – not just musically, but creatively. This includes designers, visual artists, and creatives interested in exhibitions, installations, or interdisciplinary formats.
The aim is to create events that blend music with art, design, and visual storytelling whether that’s through exhibitions, scenography, or even cinematic elements. The goal is not just to host parties, but to build immersive, evolving spaces.
Plans & Direction
The collective officially launched very recently, with Amsterdam as its starting point. From there, the vision is to grow organically expanding across cities and continuing to collaborate with artists from different backgrounds and scenes.
There are ongoing discussions with multiple venues and promoters for additional events throughout the summer, with the intention to build momentum into the autumn season. A potential presence during ADE is being explored, with future editions already in mind if timing doesn’t align this year.
Upcoming Events
Our first event is confirmed for July 18th in Amsterdam at Vice Versa.
Additional dates for the summer are currently in development and will be announced soon.
More than anything, this collective is about creating space for experimentation, for diversity, and for a different kind of energy within the electronic music scene.
