New York Music Month – June 2026
Presented by the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media & Entertainment
Official event site
New York Music Month (NYMM) is the official citywide celebration of music, created in 2017 by the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media & Entertainment (MOME). Held every June, this monthlong festival features free events for artists, industry professionals, and fans—highlighting NYC’s role as a global music capital.
MOME created NYMM to champion the city’s music industry, a vital part of New York’s economy, culture, and identity. The festival centers around four pillars: Conference, Talks, Performances, and Rehearsal Spaces—all designed to spark connection, discovery, and creative growth.
MOME’s broader mission is to support NYC’s creative economy and ensure it’s accessible to all. The city’s creative industries—including music, film, television, digital games, publishing, and theater—generate over 440,000 jobs and $150 billion in annual economic impact. They’re not just economic engines—they’re the soul of the city.

Rafael Espinal – Commissioner, NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment:
This year’s New York Music Month marks a new chapter for the city. Under Mayor Mamdani, we’re treating music as a core part of New York’s identity and economy supporting the artists, crews, and spaces that give New York its sound. With nearly 60 free events across all five boroughs, we’re opening the door wider, because in New York, music isn’t a luxury, it’s essential.
