For this first in our new blog post series, “Techno Tuesday,” we’d like to tell you about Marie Vaunt, and her exciting new label, Kurai Records!

Launching in March of 2024, Kurai Records, founded by renowned techno producer & DJ, Marie Vaunt, is really picking up steam.

Marie Vaunt is an exciting producer and DJ based in Los Angeles, who has years of experience in sound design, DJing all over the world, and is now running her own new techno label, Kurai Records. Kurai has received some massive DJ support so far, from the likes of: Tiesto, Charlotte de Witte, Amelie Lens, Hardwell, Lilly Palmer, among others.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of Kurai Records. Owned and curated by Marie Vaunt, Kurai (meaning “dark” in Japanese) descends upon the scene with the goal of showcasing a carefully selected roster of artists pushing the boundaries of Techno.

Prepare for driving rhythms, shadowy soundscapes and massive acid lines that will take you on a journey into the abyss.

“Hakanai” (from the labelhead herself, Marie Vaunt) is the label’s latest release. On this track, you can hear traditional Japanese sounds and instruments such as the koto, coupled with driving modern techno beats (a very cool combo!):
