Album: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Original Soundtrack
Various Artists
Label: Square Enix Music
Released: April 10th, 2024, available now

When VII Remake was released, it set the world on fire. Raising the bar, on what the original game accomplished with the original Playstation console many years ago. The Remake saga continues, with Rebirth, the second installment in a long awaited trilogy. After the heroes leave Midgar, a new adventure awaits in a different atmosphere, and landscape.

Rebirth’s Soundtrack received a seven disc physical release, vinyl, and a digital album as well. The amount of music is vast, bringing together talents from around the world. VII’s original composer, legendary talent Nobuo Uematsu returns. As a supervising producer, and as a composer for a new song featured in the game.

“No Promises to Keep” (Aerith /Aeris’s song)
Vocals performed by: Loren Allred
Composer: Nobuo Uematsu
Lyrics by: Kazushige Nojima
Arranger, and Orchestration by: Tsutomu Narita
Translators: Ben Sabin, John Crow

This song is included in the game soundtrack, but it is the Loveless version. The album’s single release, includes the full song, band version, and instrumental versions.

Bonus: During The Game Awards last year, the singer, songwriter Loren Allred performed the song live. It is a brief video, but it is amazing.

Also there are so much more, I just wanted to mention the key staff that are part of this project.

Note: Some producers are credited twice or more, because they contributed additional work on the soundtrack

There are a total of seven discs that are a part, of this vast journey. Like the earlier release Remake, it was comprised of several discs as well. Each disc is a chapter within the game, establishing its atmosphere, the environment, character arcs, boss battles, and story scenarios as everything unfolds. What makes Rebirth unique, is that it takes on a more open world aspect, and the music also reflects that energy. As you explore the terrain, there is so much to see, do, and engage with especially minigames. Which also have their own theme song, including a full card game which can be played numerous times that have noteworthy rewards.

Within VII Rebirth, the music envelopes you with unique places to visit, travel, and connect the dots within this vast world. Exploring various genres, and sound styles, every where you go there is music. From battles against monsters, to other characters you come across, and bosses which take on various forms. From key story points, to a character arc, or a shift within the story, everything has music connected to it.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is an incredible game, and the soundtrack is marvelous.

Note: I would include the tracklist for this game soundtrack, but it may have story points related to song titles. So no spoilers.
