The Death Beats and Sara Cruz join forces once again, laying down a powerful reimagining of Billie Ray Martin’s 90s Dance classic, “Your Loving Arms.” Putting an unexpected twist on a timeless anthem, this collaboration blends nostalgic vibes alongside present-day production, reinforcing the duo’s unique chemistry.
Evoking visions of Blade Runner, the track opens to a sweeping Synthwave intro, establishing an immersive cinematic tone. Lush pads and widescreen atmospherics immerse the listener in a neon-lit world, balancing nostalgia and renewed momentum. The soaring and emotive vocals cut through the mix, sporting a paradox of strength and vulnerability, guiding the music to uncharted territory.
The drop erupts into a rough-and-ready Liquid roller, surging in energy and multi-faceted sonics against a heavyweight formation of Reece bass lines, gritty wobbles and foghorn blasts. Rolling Jungle breaks and funky synths provide a dynamic halfway point before driving at full speed towards a high-impact crescendo.
Italian-born, ex-Londoner Sara Cruz brings her love for 80’s sounds, Dream Pop textures, and DnB dynamics to an international audience. She’s previously enjoyed support on BBC 1Xtra and Kiss FM and from DJs including Crystal Clear and Knife Party, and syncs spanning Assassin’s Creed and Foot Locker. She’s also written for Japanese Pop icon Kumi Koda.
The Death Beats is the creative vision of London-based composer and producer Gary J Robinson. His signature mix of brooding atmospheres and hard-hitting beats adds the perfect counterpoint. His recent collaborations with Dope Ammo and Jasmine Knight have been well received by a barrage of notable DJs and quickly gained strong traction across all the major streaming platforms.
