Following the incredible release of the film soundtrack (including a Grammy win for best film score!!), NIN returns with 20 new songs, and remixes made by some awesome friends from around the world. Some of the newly released tracks did not make it into the OST but are part of this release. But as is, this complimentary album displays that NIN’s sound is still evolving, changing, becoming something new, breaking the mold that most of their fans, and music lovers expect from the crew. Plus with crossover collaborations, and remixes, it adds another layer to their already established sound style that formed what was the TRON ARES soundtrack.
Similar to a Director’s Cut of a hit film (or a cult classic), this album is a 1.5 version of the music, but with enhanced features and new songs. Within Divergence, it is an extension of ARES, a side quest, a branching path yet to be explored. If there was to be more of the film, or possibly a sequel, this extra chapter would shape what is to be, or yet to be. It also contains callbacks to the past albums NIN has released, a spiral, an essential collection of art and expression. And it also taps into the sound style which forms TRON’s signature sound style.
The album is available on digital stores, and streaming services now. Physical Editions are available for preorder, to be released on June 5th, 2026

Overall, Divergence is an awesome album that explores further into the TRON universe. For NIN to be part of the series, it was well deserved. Plus it displays their creativity, imagination, and sound style that cannot be defined. If you absolutely loved the ARES OST, you will definitely love Divergence. So turn it up, hit play, and get lost in the sound.
